Manipur Guv directs police to make national highways safe

Imphal, Aug 12 (UNI) Governor of Manipur, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, reviewed the prevailing law and order in the state and instructed officials, police, the army, and Assam Rifles to maintain law and order.
The governor reviewed the overall security arrangements taken to control any situation at any point in time in the state.
The security advisor and DGP briefed the governor about the security arrangements made in the state after the spate of ethnic violence. Discussions for the smooth passage of goods-laden vehicles along the National Highways were also discussed in the meeting, and the Governor directed the DGP to take steps to allow free flow along the National Highways. The governor enquired about the progress of ongoing construction works in NH-2 and NH-37 from the Special Chief Secretary.
