Manipur CM appeals not to misuse social media platforms

Imphal, Jan 23 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh appealed to all using social media platforms not to misuse the platform to incite violence, disunity, and public order.
Addressing the media on Thursday at the Secretariat, Singh said the career and life of all those who violate the law and use inflammatory and unacceptable words will be destroyed if the government takes action against them. The government will be compelled to take action against those who looted goods and destroyed properties including those of Ministers, and MLAs in the state. Many of them have been arrested and proper actions will be taken against them, he added.
He further said some social media users use words that question the sovereignty and integrity of the nation. Strict actions will be taken against those persons and the admin of the social platforms he further said. After the crisis started in May 2023 many organizations have come up that have arms and they have started punishing people for various activities. The Chief Minister questioned the authority of the organizations to take action against citizens of the land. The government understands the situation which started after actions were taken up against some illegal activities he added, however, no one has the right to carry out the works done by the government he added.
