Mangaluru: Roads wear deserted look after ban on vehicular movement

Mangaluru, Apr 3(UNI) Roads in Mangaluru wore a deserted look on Friday following a complete ban on movement of all types of vehicles except emergency service vehicles in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The action of the police in seizing several vehicles violating lockdown rules, has also been a deterrent to many who would otherwise roam on the roads in their vehicles unnecassarily.
Mangaluru City Traffic Police and Dakshina Kannada district police erected several pickets at vantage places on arterial roads to check those moving without a valid reason. Several two-wheelers were seized during the checking while a few car drivers were let off with a strict warning.
