Mandya, Nov 27 (UNI) The tragic death of 30 persons in Mandya District after a private bus plunged into a canal has raised suspicion and RTO officials have been accused of negligence in giving fitness certificate against norms.
The police officials investigating the case, said the bus, which was named “Rajakumara,” was over 15-year-old and was still being used to ferry passengers.
“Buses which are more than 15 years need to be phased out. They cannot be used to carry passengers. The bus was given a Fitness Certificate (FC) by the RTO, which has raised suspicion,” a police official said.
