Chennai, Sep 11 (UNI) Manali Petrochemicals Limited (MPL)
has commenced production of Notedome products at its Chennai
facility to cater to the needs of the sub-continent and South
East Asian markets.
MPL had acquired Notedome Limited, UK in September 2016 through
its overseas subsidiaries.
Notedome, the UK-based manufacturer of high performance
polyurethanes for the past three decades, supplies to over
40 countries across the globe and has been looking to expand
its base in Asia.
'As part of achieving this, MPL, the ultimate parent of
Notedome, has commenced production of Notedome products at
its facilities in the Chennai this month', a MPL release
on Tuesday said.
The Notedome Division of MPL would cater to the needs of the
subcontinent and the South East Asian market.
By introducing the highly specialized cast elastomers of
Notedome to the Asian markets, MPL has been instrumental
in advancing India’s PU-based CASE (Coatings, Adhesives,
Sealants, and Elastomers) industry.
Over the past decade, the PU industry has seen consistent
growth of around five to six per cent per annum, led
primarily by the automobile, construction and footwear sectors.
In South and East Asia, the growth rates have been even
steeper, the release said.
With the global conscience on energy usage rising, focus
was more on sustainability, durability, and efficiency of
the products.
Manali Petrochemicals, besides being the sole producer of
propylene oxide and also one of the largest producers of
base and system polyols in the country, makes PPG polyols,
a key ingredient in Notedome's formula.
