Manali-Leh road reopens, weather improves across Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Oct 10 (UNI) The Manali-Leh road, which had remained closed for several days due to heavy snowfall, has now been reopened for vehicular movement.
Meanwhile, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has cleared snow from the Baralacha Pass, located 16,500 feet above sea level, after extensive efforts, restoring traffic along the strategic route.
With the improvement in weather conditions and return of sunshine in Himachal Pradesh, temperatures have increased in the plains and mid-mountain areas. Several stations have recorded a significant increase in maximum temperatures during the last 24 hours.

Himachal govt slammed over fertiliser subsidy withdrawal, BJP warns of agitation

Shimla, May 20 (UNI) BJP MP from Shimla parliamentary constituency and former state party president Suresh Kashyap on Wednesday accused the Himachal Pradesh government of adopting “anti-farmer policies” by withdrawing the additional Rs 50 subsidy on DAP and NPK fertilisers, alleging the move would burden farmers.

7 Govt, semi-Govt employees face departmental action in Dehra NDPS cases

Dehra, May 20 (UNI) Acting under the Himachal Pradesh Government’s “Drug-Free Himachal Campaign” and its zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, Police District Dehra has initiated strict legal and administrative action against government and semi-government employees found involved in cases registered under the NDPS Act. Police said here on Wednesday.
Dhera district superintendent of police Mayank Chaudhary told UNI that continuous and lawful action is being taken to effectively implement the state government’s anti-drug policy under the directions of the government.

J&K Police tightens anti-drug crackdown with GPS monitoring, property demolition

Srinagar, May 20 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday intensified its anti-narcotics campaign under the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan” by introducing GPS-based monitoring of a bailed-out accused, demolishing an alleged narcotics-linked property in Srinagar and initiating administrative action against persons involved in drug-related cases.
