Man wanted for duping over dozen of Rs 90 lakh arrested in Thane

Thane, Jan 18 (UNI) A 42-year-old man who was on the run for several years after allegedly duping over a dozen persons from Satara to the tune of Rs 90 lakh on pretext of getting them jobs in Reserve Bank of India and houses in Mhada projects, has been arrested by the city police.
The accused, Prashant Ganpat Badekar alias Arvind Sontakke, was arrested by the Anti-Extortion Cell of the city police on Friday from near the RTO office at Takaipada of Kalyan on a tip-off.
He was recently wanted in a case of cheating 16 persons to the tune of Rs 90 lakh by promising to give them jobs in RBI and also getting them tenements at cheaper rates in the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) schemes, police said.
