Man waiting in queue for subsidized onions dies in Vijaywada

Vijayawada, Dec 9 (UNI) A man, who stood in a long queue at rythu bazar to buy subsidized onions, suffered massive cardiac arrest and died in Gudiwada in Krishna district on Monday.
The deceased Sambaiah (65) stood for a couple of hours in the long queue to get subsidized onions, being supplied by the government at Rs 25 per KG. He suddenly collapsed in the queue. While he was being shifted to hospital he died.
Those who stood in queue told media that onions were not sold yesterday. The official resumed the selling of subsidized onions today and hundreds of people throng to the rythu bazar to buy a KG of onion at Rs.25 as the same is being sold at Rs.150 in the open market.
