Man held for smuggling illegal IMFL; 2040 liquor bottles seized

Kolhapur, Nov 11 (UNI) A 34-year-old driver was arrested here on Monday for allegedly smuggling 2040 bottles of illegal Indian-made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), informed authorities.
Acting on a tip-off, State Prohibition & Excise Department's Divisional Flying Squad (DFS) today intercepted a vehicle near Gharpan village in the Panhala tehsil of this district.
The vehicle's search led to the discovery of Indian-made Foreign Liquor (IMFL)-1920 bottles of 750 Ml each and 120 bottles of 500 Ml each- hidden in 165 boxes, stated the DFS.
Seizure totally valuing up to Rs 22,68,250, including illegal liquor and the vehicle, has been made, it apprised.
Further investigation into the case is underway, it added.
