Man gets 20 yrs RI by Vasai court under POCSO

Palghar, May 18 (UNI) A 22 year old labourer from Phulpada of Virar in Vasai of the district who was found guilty under the POCSO Act has been convicted and sentenced to 20 years RI by the Vasai court.

In his order of Thursday last the Additional Sessions Judge Rahul R Bhosale, who found him guilty of the offences punishable under section 366A also collectively fined the accused a sum of Rs 16,000.

Appearing for the prosecution the APP Kadambini Khandagale told the court that the accused Suresh Mukne, had abducted the victim girl aged 4 in the neighbourhood, and taken her to a dilapidated bunglow and sexually abused her. The accused was arrested immediately after the incident that took place on August 29, 2016 at
6.55 in the morning.

The judge in his order noted that the prosecution has successfully proved the charges against the accused who needs to be convicted and sentenced.

The judge also ordered that the DSLA to make payment of compensation to the victim girl also directed that the copy of the order be forwarded to the district collector for action under section 365 of the CRPc.
