Man beaten to death over electing candidate for Panchayat president post in Tamil Nadu

Virudhunagar, Dec 12 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old person was beaten to death by a gang, when he opposed the unanimous nomination of an AIADMK functionary as President of Kottaipatti Panchayat Union near Sattur in this Southern district of Tamil Nadu late on Wednesday night.
Police said here on Thursday that the deceased was identified as V Satish Kumar, who worked as a manager of a private bank at Sivakasi.
The incident occurred, when some elders of a dominant caste had called for a meeting late night to garner support for the AIADMK functionary Ramasubbu, who had filed the nomination for the post of Panchayat president.
