Man assaulted for posting photo of consuming beef soup on Facebook

Nagapattinam, Jul 12 (UNI) In a ghastly act, a 24-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a gang after he posted a photo of himself consuming beef soup on his Facebook account with a caption saying that 'he relished it' at Poravachery village in Nagapattinam district.
Police said here on Friday that the gang identified as N Dinesh Kumar (28), a functionary of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) party, his associates R.Agathian (29), A.Ganesh Kumar (27) and M.Mohan Kumar (28) indulged in a wordy quarrel with Mohammed Fisan and attacked him with a wooden log and an iron rod on his left shoulder and wrist on Thursday evening.
The injured Mohammed Fisan was admitted to the government headquarters hospital here.
On a complaint from him, police registered a case under sections 153 (A), 307, 506 (ii), 324 and 294 (b) of the IPC and arrested the gang.
