Mamata to inaugurate ‘Anurodher Ashor’ today

Kolkata, Aug 25 (UNI) 'Anurodher Ashor' – song request programme – featuring veteran singers and musicians will be held at Nazrul Mancha today.
Songs from the golden era of Bengali music will be the highlight of this programme.
Incidentally, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had instituted ‘Sangeet Samman’ awards in 2012.
Veterans like Firoza Begum, Girija Debi, Sandhya Mukherjee, Dwijen Mukherjee, Manna Dey, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and others have been honoured in the past.
She has also initiated Lok Prasar Prakalpa for folk artistes.
‘Anurodher Ashor’ is a step in the direction for the revival of the golden age of Bengali music.
