New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) The Opposition leaders including Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday condemned the dastardly killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Saddened and shocked at the brutal killing of respected editor and senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari. With a few hours to go for Eid this is terrible. No words are enough for this big tragedy", said Ms Banerjee in twitter.

AIMIM leader Mr Owaisi in his tweet said the incident was shocking and added that the deceased journalist was sincerely concerned about the state.

In his tweet Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore said: "Assassination of Shujaat Bukhari is a brutal attack on freedom of press".

He said this was a cowardly and deplorable act of terror.
