Kolkata, Feb 25 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today expressed concern over the violent incidents in New Delhi in relation to CAA protests and appealed to all concerned to maintain amity and peace for the sake of the country.
" I believe that the time is now for everyone to maintain calm and peace for sake of the country," Ms Banerjee told reporters minutes before flying to Bhubaneswar to attend a meeting of the chief ministers of eastern zonal convened by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday.
"I am very much concerned over the recent happenings and do not know why this is happening but we are watching on the situation closely," Ms Banerjee, who is also the chairperson of the All India Trinamool Congress said.
