Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jul 2 2016 8:13PM Mamata Banerjee to inaugurate ISKCON Rathayatra in KolkataKolkata, Jul 2 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the Kolkata Rathayatra organised by International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on July 6. ISKCON authorities said here today that the inauguration will takeplace in front of the ISKCON temple in the city. Over lakhs of devotees are expected to pull the chariots of deities of Lord Jagannath, Balaram and Subhadra. The rathayatra, involving devotees, will move through important thoroughfares of the city. ISKCON is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year. The Rath will move through Minto Park, Sarat Bose Road, Hazra Road,Hazra crossing, SP Mukherjee Road, ATM Road, Exide Crossing, JL NehruRoad, Outram Road to Brigade Parade Ground, where daily specialdarshan of Lord Jagananth from July 7 to 14 has been arranged. Prasad will also be distributed, he said. Cultural programmes, special contests for empowerment, youth festivaland performances by Russian dancers, Dona Ganguly dance troop will beheld during the festival.
