Maliwal calls for candle light march from Raj Ghat to India Gate, protestors stopped at BSZ Marg

New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) Hundreds of people took to the streets joining the candle march in support of the Delhi Commision for Women's chief Swati Maliwal's movement against rapes demanding a strong justice delivery system in rape cases and ensuring women safety were stopped by the police as they entered Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg about a kilometer's distance after they began from the Raj Ghat.
Women, students and a large number of people coming from various walks of life came together in support of Maliwal's casue who's indefinite hunger strike entered the fifth consecutive day on Saturday.
The protestors who wanted to march towards the India Gate peacefully were stopped at the BSZ Marg as the police had put barricades and later stationed their water cannons behind the same.
