Mumbai, Oct 2 (UNI) Following the direction of the special court, former BJP MP and Malegaon 2008 bomb blast accused, Pragya Singh Thakur, is expected to appear before it on Thursday (tomorrow), a lawyer said here on Wednesday.
During the hearing of final arguments in the case on Monday, her lawyers informed the court that Thakur is admitted in a hospital in Madhya Pradesh, as her health condition has deteriorated and she is unable to see properly.
Her lawyers sought exemption from appearing before the court on the ground that she may be permitted to be present in court after her health improves.
The court perused the medical certificate and said that the lawyers can apply for exemption on a daily basis till her appearance before the court on Thursday, stating that otherwise it will pass necessary orders.
The Sadhvi and other accused in this case are on bail.
Notably, on September 29, 2008, a bomb tied to a motorcycle exploded in Nashik’s Malegaon town, in which six people were killed and 101 people injured. The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested 11 people in this connection in November 2008.
