Kuala Lumpur, July 1 (UNI) Former world champion PV Sindhu's campaign at the Malaysia Open BWF Super 750 series badminton tournament ended on Friday with a quarterfinal loss at the hands of Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu Ying.
Sindhu lost 21-13, 15-21, 13-21 to Tai Tzu in 53 minutes here at the Axiata Arena. With a win the Taipei shuttler strengthen her head-to head record 16-5 over the Indian ace.
Sindhu started slow before heading and was trailing 2-5 after the early exchanges. She then found the rhythm and head into breather with 11-7 lead. Post break, she raced to 14-8 lead. TTY retaliated with couple of high intensity shots to reduce the lead. But Sindhu kept her grip on the game and pocketed the opening game 21-13.
