Mar 09, 2021: A make shift school for the children of the migrant workers in Bengaluru has been attracting limelight lately.
The school was established by education Activist Nafih Mohammed Naser during the lockdown period post Corona outbreak.
Most of the migrant labourers in Nafih's locality lost jobs and were forced to return their home states. The labourers who chose not to return were also suffering because of lack of resources. Nafih started providing essentials to them but he soon realised that the worst sufferers in the pandemic were the kids of the migrant labourers. They didn't have access to education for months. This is when Nafih Mohammed Naser and his teammates decided to start a free makeshift school of the kids of the migrant labourers.
Apart from formal education, the kids at the school are also provided with training in dance, sports, acting and other extra-curricular activities.
