Gandhinagar, Jan 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said his ‘Make in India’ thrust had made the nation a favoured investment destination and the sixth largest manufacturing country in the world. Inaugurating the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ summit here, Mr Modi said his government seeks to make India the easiest place to do business by simplifying procedures and make the country most open economies in the world. He said because of the government’s forward-looking policies India had attracted 130 billion US dollars in the last two and a half years, which was 60 per cent higher than the previous year. “India is among the top ten nations in FDI inflow,” he added. “Our development agenda is ambitious. We want to provide jobs to every hand of 800 million youth below the age of 35 years,” the Prime Minister said. India, he said, will emerge as one of the biggest construction markets what with millions of homes that need to be built. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continue with reforms of the economy adding, “Indian economy has enhanced its profile in the last two years and we are moving closer to global benchmarks.” Mr Modi said his government’s mission is to bring paradigm shift in polity and governance from favouritism to level playing system. “We are working to adopt and absorb new technology to end discrimination. We are on threshold to be world’s largest digitised economy.' He said India was the fastest growing economy despite the global slowdown.
