Makar Sankranti: Devotees throng Kangra to have glimpse of 15-quintal butter idol

Kangra, Jan 14 (UNI) Despite shivering cold, thousands of pilgrims from all over the country have been queuing up in this temple town since this morning, to pay obeisance at the Brajeshwari temple here and also catch a sight of the 15-quintal butter idol on the Pindi of the Goddess, prepared on Sunday evening.
Temple Officer Surinder Kumar Dhiman told UNI that the idol was made by 13 priests in nearly more than six hours and tastefully decorated with dry fruits.
He said the process of butter making started on January 5 and completed on Sunday morning. The priests made butter with a specific technique by washing ghee, donated by pilgrims from all over the country, with water 108 times.
