Srinagar, Nov 2 (UNI) The Kashmir valley, including summer capital, Srinagar, on Friday witnessed a considerable drop in the temperature following fresh snowfall on higher reaches and rain in plains, disrupting normal life.
A Meteorological department spokesman said this evening that there could be light rain or snow at most places in the Kashmir valley, many places in Jammu region and few places in Ladakh division during the next 24 hours. There will however, a decrease in precipitation during subsequent two days, he said.
Due to snow and rain the maximum temperature was 9 degree to about 12 degree below normal in the valley, where world famous ski resort of Gulmarg recorded lowest 0.4 degree temperature during the day, about 12 notches below normal.
