Major decision taken to strengthen pension scheme of coal employees: AK Jain

Nagpur, August 16(UNI) Union Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain on Tuesday asserted that in order to strengthen the pension scheme of coal employees and remove the deficit, a major decision has been taken in the meeting of CMPF.
Addressing a press conference here, Anil Kumar Jain said a major decision has been taken to strengthen pension scheme of coal employees and it was agreed in the meeting that the CMPF fund should be increased statutorily under the CMPF Act.
Jain said that at present there is a provision of Rs.10 per ton for CMPF, "for this we propose that it should be increased to Rs.20 per ton, so that the coal workers continue to get pension in a regular and time bound manner."
