New Delhi, Jul 15 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday said Maithili and Bhojpuri will be included in Delhi's schools for class 8th to 12th as an optional language subject, just like Punjabi and Urdu.
"Unlike Maithili, Bhojpuri has still not been included in the 8th list in the Constitution of India, causing its exclusion from CBSE and UPSC subjects. I as chairman of Delhi Government'ss Maithili & Bhojpuri Academy, will write to the Centre urging for inclusion,' Mr Sisodia said, after chairing a meeting of Delhi Government's Maithili Bhojpuri Academy.
'Just like Sanskrit Urdu and Punjabi festivals organised by Delhi Government in Central Park, Connaught Place, a five day Maithili Bhojpuri Utsav will be organised in November, 2019,' he said.
