Maintain communal Harmony and celebrate Ganesh festival in smooth manner: Anjani Kumar

Hyderabad, Aug 14 (UNI) Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar has appealed to the citizens of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to maintain the communal harmony and celebrate the festival in a smooth manner.

Mr Kumar held meeting here on Wednesday to review preparatory work for Ganesh Festival –which is going to be held from September 2 and the final ganesh immersion is slated on September 12.
All the Station House Officers of Law & Order Police Stations, all ACPs, Addl. DCPs have attended the meeting.

The senior officers of Hyderabad City took stock of the situation from the field officers. Mr Kumar briefed them on various aspects about precautions to be taken right from transportation of the Idols from selling points to pandals, Dos and Donts at Pandals, importance of coordination with organisers as well as community, security measures at pandals, challenges on the day of immersion and how to meet them.,

The Commissioner gave directions to the field as well as supervisory officers in respect of optimum utilisation of city as well as outside forces, their accommodation, traffic as well as barricading arrangements, coordination with other departments, strengthening of surveillance as well as anti-sabotage checks and finally emphasised the goal of completion of celebrations incident free.

Further, the Commissioner expressed that this is the best opportunity to empower field level staff and to win over the community by maintaining good rapport with the citizens and extending maximum possible support for completion of the event peacefully and make it successful, a police statement here said.
