New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Gymnast Deepa Karmakar, who missed a bronze medal by a whisker in the Rio Olympics will miss the upcoming Commonwealth Games starting from April 4 after she suffered a knee injury, but her main focus will be the Asian Games beginning from August 18.
Deepa who stood fourth in the women's vault final missed a bronze by a whisker, but still created history by producing the best-ever performance by an Indian gymnast in the Olympics history.
Speaking On the sidelines of an Indian Olympic Association event, Deepa while addressing mediapersons said "she is deeply saddened that she will not able to participate in the upcoming Commonwealth games, but medal prospect was sure had she took part. I was also winner of bronze medal at 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth games she said."
