New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) Aiming to deliver reliable and quality service to its customers, home grown utility vehicle major, Mahindra and Mahindra, today rolled out the first of its kind service support for the country’s truck industry with the implementation of Delhi-Mumbai Service Corridor and announced seven exclusive parts retail outlets across the country. The company said that it was aiming at a growth of 6 to 7 per cent in Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) segment. Currently, M&M has share of around 9 per cent in LCV segment while 3.5 per cent share in Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) segment. Mahindra also announced that exclusive parts retail outlets would be further strengthened to 26 such plazas by end of FY18. Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division and Managing Director, Nalin Mehta said, “overall the Commercial Vehicles Industry (CVI) is flat. The LCVs segment is on the rise while the HCVs are facing the dip. However, with the BS IV norms that is going to be applicable there is a spur in the industry as people are opting for pre-buy pick which apparently will reinstate the industry into a flat buy.” “In the LCV segment, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division have a market share of 9.4 per cent year to date till Jan F17. It is all set to further strengthen its position all across India with over 1,50,000 vehicles already on the roads. I believe with the introduction of Scrapping Policy there will be a market change as well as the GST will aid improvement in the overall industry”, added Mr Mehta. In HCV segment, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division already had reached more than 25,000 trucks on road. The company is in process of addressing every segment of the commercial vehicle market; from 3.5 tonne GVW to 49 tonne GVW, with variants that meet the varying needs of passenger transport, cargo and specialized load applications. The company will soon enter into Intermediate Commercial Vehicles (ICV) segment to be a top slot in Commercial Vehicles segment. UNI SDR PS SNU 1913
