Mahindra releases new electric CitySmart Car

Bengaluru, Oct 24 (UNI) Mahindra Electric, today announced the launch of its new electric CitySmart car, the e2oPlus which is expected to usher a whole new concept in urban mobility with zero emission.

The four seater car is priced at Rs 6.73 lakh ex-showroom in Bengaluru that include the government incentive.

On a full charge which has to be done for 90 minutes with consumption of 14 units of electricity, the car can travel for up to 140 kms and achive a top speed of 85 kmph, a top company official said.

Speaking to reporters Arvind Mathew, CEO of Mahindra Electric, said this release marks the foray by the company into mass market of electric city car segment.

'The e2oPlus aptly represents our 'rise' philosophy in action, as our development team delivered a city car that is poised to nurture a sustainable ecosystem and redefine the future of mobility,' he said.

CEO designate Mahesh Babu said e2oPlus was a near perfect amalgam of the advancements in automotive technology, electronics and information technology, combined with minimal running costs, which was just is at just 70 paise per km.

He said Mahindra had so far sold 7000 electric cars in the country and the new model would boost its sales. UNI RS MSP AK1745
