Mumbai, Mar 2 (UNI) Bollywood film producer Mahesh Bhatt and his family members have received extortion call, demanding Rs 50 lakhs. The caller threatened to kill Bhatt's daughter Alia and wife Soni Razdan, in case he failed to pay up. A complaint to city police station filed by Mr Bhatt stated that he received a call on February 26 night, 'the caller threatened to fire several rounds of bullets at Alia and his wife, Soni Razdan if he failed to pay the amount.' The Juhu police has registered an FIR late last night, and recorded the family's statement and now the case has been transferred to the Mumbai Police's Anti Extortion Cell (ANC), who will investigate the matter further alongwith other police departments. The caller, claiming to be a gang leader, demanded Rs 50 lakhs from the filmmaker. Bhatt, initially thought it was a prank, but later on the caller texted him, and told him that not to take the threats lightly. He said if his instructions weren't followed, he would kill Bhatt, Alia and Soni. He clearly said: "If you fail to do so, I will fire several rounds of bullets at your daughter Alia and wife Soni. A case is registered under section 387 (causing a person to fear death or grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion.) and further investigation was on, sources added. UNI ST NV SM AKC 1352
