Mahatma Gandhi corner set up at Chennai airport to mark 150th birth anniversary

Chennai, Nov 7 (UNI) ‘Gandhi Corner’, an exhibition commemorating the

150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was inaugurated in domestic

arrival terminal of the Chennai airport.

It was inaugurated by Ms Anjali Mohapatra, President, AAI Kalyanmayee.

A dialer phone, in which one could hear Gandhiji’s voice, a miniature of

Sevagram Ashram in Maharashtra, Petti charkha(s), interesting artefact

replicas, images depicting Gandhiji’s visits to Tamil Nadu and his interaction

with regional leaders, public and many more wpuld catch the eye of the

passengers travelling through Chennai Airport, an official release here

on Wednesday said.

The exhibition with giant screens playing exclusive videos, films of

Gandhi, was intended at sensitising passengers, essentially younger

generation on the life and works of the Father of Nation.

The exhibition, which has been receiving rave reviews from passengers,

has been conceived by Chennai Airport in collaboration with National

Gandhi Museum, Raj Ghat, New Delhi, will continue during the government

observance of 150th birth anniversary celebrations as notified by the

Union Ministry of Culture.
