Maharashtra: Lady Sarpanch, husband trapped in ACB net

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jul 16 (UNI) A woman Sarpanch and her husband are arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant on Tuesday in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.
According to an ACB press release, the two alleged accused have been identified as Jyothi Gavali (26), the Grampanchayat Sarpanch of Taklimali village, and her husband Anand Gavali (32).
The ACB said Anand Gavali sought Rs 50,000 from the complainant who is deputy Sarpanch of the Taklimali grampanchayat as a bribe on behalf of his sarpanch wife for releasing Rs 3,00,000 from 15th finance commission fund for village development work.
