Maharashtra govt issues new Covid guidelines after detection of new variant Omicron

Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) Maharashtra government on Sunday issued new Covid-19 guidelines following detection of new variant Omicron in South Africa and some other countries.
Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that those arriving from Omicron affected countries including South Africa are being quarantined and a report of RT-PCR test valid for 72 hours has been made mandatory.
He said, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has urged the Centre to stop all flights from South Africa and a response in this regard is awaited.
