Maha to be leader in industrial, educational, social & economic sectors: CM

Mumbai, Dec 5 (UNI) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday assured that Maharashtra will strive to remain a leader in the industrial, educational, social and economic sectors by planning and accelerating the speed of development.
Interacting with media at Mantralaya after taking oath as the Chief Minister today, he said that efforts will be made to ensure that Maharashtra remains the leading state in the country.
The pace of development will be increased by strengthening the infrastructure facilities in the state, he said and assured that various decisions taken by the Mahayuti government in last two and half years will continue.
He further said that other schemes including Ladki Bahin Yojana will continue and they will be effectively implemented in the coming period.
He also said that the state government is bound to fulfil the promises made in the past.
Various measures will be taken to increase the land under irrigation in the state, at the same time, the government's focus will be on starting the river-linking work project, he stated.
Furthermore, efforts will be made to generate 16,000 MW of solar power by the year 2026, he informed.
On the lines of the Samruddhi Highway, a way will be worked out for the Shaktipeeth route by communicating with the farmers of the respective areas, the Chief Minister announced.
Also, the government is making efforts to bring more industries in the state to generate employment, he said and informed that 90 percent of foreign direct investment in the state last year came in last six months alone.
On safety of women, Fadnavis promised to hold a dialogue the central government regarding the Shakti Act for the protection of women.
The announcement made regarding loan waiver for farmers will be implemented, he added.

Permanent mechanism should be set up for procuring soybean: Maha CM

Mumbai, Jan 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday directed the state marketing department to set up a permanent system for procuring soybeans without any hindrance.Fadnavis was speaking at a review meeting of the work to be done by the Marketing Department in 100 days at Sahyadri Guest House here.He stated that agro-hubs with all facilities should be established along the Samruddhi Highway under the Maharashtra Agribusiness Network (MAGNET) Project.Fadnavis also gave instructions for preparing and submitting a plan for setting up agro hubs in all four divisions of the state.Fadnavis said the preparations should be completed for procuring soybeans in November from next year in the state and the registration of farmers should also be completed in October.The criteria should be decided for the system to be established permanently for the procurement of soybeans, he said.
