Maha: Rohit Pawar claims 40 MLAs likely join BJP before 2029 elections

Pune, May 13 (UNI) Rohit Pawar, MLA of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), today claimed that nearly 40 legislators, including senior leaders from the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) and some members of the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), are likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party before the 2029 Assembly elections in Maharashtra.
Speaking to reporters after meeting police officials regarding the deteriorating law and order situation in Baramati taluka, he alleged that BJP had already initiated efforts to induct several leaders into its fold. He specifically mentioned senior NCP leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare while referring to dissatisfaction within the Ajit Pawar-led faction over recent party appointments.
Rohit Pawar stated that as long as the Ajit Pawar faction remains in power alongside BJP, his party would not align with them. He reiterated that the Sharad Pawar-led faction stands firmly with common citizens and against BJP policies.
