Mumbai Dec 5 (UNI) The leaders of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on Thursday skipped the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis despite being invited.
Apart from Fadnavis, NCP chief Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena head Ekanth Shinde took oath as Deputy Chief Minister during the function at the historic Azad Maidan here.
Prominent leaders in the opposition camp, including NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray and state Congress presdient Nana Patole were invited but opted to stay away from the ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Nirmala Sitharaman, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and many other prominent leaders were present on the makeshift platform erected for the function.
Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and actress Madhuri Dixit were among those present from the glamour world. UNI AAA SSP
