Latur, Nov 9 (UNI) Attacking the BJP-led Mahayuti government in the state, NCP (SP) national president Sharad Pawar said on Saturday that those who do not pay attention to the farmers' woes has no right to be in power.
Addressing an election rally at Udgir in the district, he said that farmers in the state are currently in trouble, but the government does not pay attention to their plight.
"Those who do not pay attention to the farmers have no right to be in power," he declared.
Lamenting over rise in crime rate in the state and violence against women, he mentioned about Badlapur child molestation incident, disappearance of women and girls, and firing by a ruling party's MLA in a police station and charged that the government does not want to address it.
Despite this, nothing happened to this government, he noted.
Continuing his attack, the octogenarian leader said that the government of BJP ideology was in the state for last 10 years, but many questions in the state still persists.
Maharashtra was number one in the field of industry and agriculture, but it has now slipped to number six, he claimed the Mahayuti government has not performed as befits the state.
During the rule of the Mahayuti government, factories in the state have moved out and with that jobs of youths have been snatched away, Pawar claimed.
Also, due to ban on export of crops like onion, sugar, soybean, farmers are suffering huge losses, he added.
