Pune, Apr 3 (UNI) The Maharashtra government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are planning to start testing thousands of its health workers to check whether they have developed antibodies after being exposed to coronavirus.
For a start, the BMC wants to test 10,000 of its healthcare personnel in the next ten days.
For the last few days, civic officials have been in touch with the health ministry in Delhi to procure antibody test kits for the city.
"A lot many people have been exposed to the virus and they may develop immunity after their bodies develop antibodies against the virus. Once we test them, these people could be at the forefront of tackling the virus,” Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi tweeted on Friday.
