Maha: Former student assaults 12 schoolboys at Palghar hostel, arrested

Palghar, Oct 11 (UNI) Police have arrested a twenty-one-year-old former student for violently assaulting twelve class eight boys with sticks at a private tribal residential school in Talasari, Palghar district, an official confirmed today.
Gangaram Pathara, who currently studies at a nearby training institute but was permitted to reside in the school hostel and function as a monitor, was taken into custody yesterday and remanded to two days' police detention.
The incident came to light when several victims disclosed they had been brutally beaten for allegedly failing to clean toilets properly. Pathara, who previously attended the same school, used sticks to assault the twelve students while acting in his capacity as hostel monitor.
