Maha: EC directs candidates to open separate bank account for poll expenses

Mumbai, Nov 2 (UNI) The Election Commission of India has directed all the candidates who are contesting the Maharashtra Assembly election to open a separate bank account for their election expenses and transact through it.
As per the EC's Expenditure Instructions Summary 2024 for the Assembly election, candidates must deposit the entire amount for election expenses in the respective bank account and must pay their election expenses through cheque, Dhanakarsh, RTGS, NEFT from the bank account opened for election.
Candidates must publish a declaration that they have no criminal record against them.

Mumbai, Dec 10 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday announced financial assistance of Rs five lakh to kin of five victims who lost their lives in bus accident at Kurla, an eastern suburb.
The aid to the next kin of the victims of the Kurla bus tragedy will be given from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund soon, he said.
