Mumbai, May 23 (UNI) Over 21,750 people have applied to work as 'Corona Warriors' in various departments of Maharashtra and are lending a helping hand to the authorities as Mumbai and other parts of the state remain worst-afflicted by the pandemic, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Saturday while showering praises on the Covid-19 pandemic warriors who are waging a ‘war without arms’ against the invisible virus for the people of the state.
In an open letter, Mr Thackeray said he was filled with pride by the services rendered by the Corona Warriors who are engaged in a difficult combat in these critical times.
“Now, many more are inspired like you… Each citizen of Maharashtra is like a ‘soldier’ tackling this pandemic. This is in a way a worship of the country and the lord, in the established ancient culture and traditions of this state,” he said.
