Mah: Seven Thane fishermen saved in water accident

Thane, Jan 25 (UNI) Seven fishermen of this district were saved in time when the boat, on which they were sailing, was hit by another boat nearly 25 nautical miles from Uttan town in Bhayander, report said here on Saturday.
The water accident occured on Friday noon when the fishermen were asleep on their ship
when it was dashed by other passing boat.
According to the boat supervisor Vifred Patil, the near-fatal collision plunged them into the
sea, and they were saved by a third boat which noticed them waving their shirts.
The boat's owner Reni Kokia said that his boat has suffered heavy damage up to Rs 10 lakhs,
and the government should help him as he can't afford the repairing expenses.
Uttan Police Station Assistant Inspector Satish Nikam stated that the police have not received
formal complaint regarding the accident but he agreed that he has heard about it.
