Aurangabad, Sep 24 (UNI ) Newly elected NCP Rajya Sabha MP and party senior leader Fauzia Khan from Marathwada region of Maharashtra has demanded reservation for the Maratha and Muslim communities in Maharashtra state.
Ms Fauzia who was submitted her demands memorundum to the Union Minister for Social Justice Thavarchand Gehlot in Delhi on Wednesday,according to official press statement from her here.
She stated that the Maharashtra government had decided to grant reservation to both the communities but the Maratha reservation was stayed in the Supreme Court and the Muslim reservation was appealed in the High Court.
She further stated that the Central Government should intervene and give reservations as both the communities are economically and educationally backward in the state,she added.
