Aurangabad, Feb 26 (UNI) The eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region reported 654 fresh COVID-19 positive cases were detected during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Thursday.
However, the authorities also reported that nine deaths due to the pandemic during the same period.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region are,Aurangabad district recorded 275 cases and 4 deaths followed by Jalna registered 85 new cases and 2 deaths ,Latur had 80 new cases and single death ,Parbhani had 41 cases and single death, Hingoli had 24 cases and single death,Nanded had 70 cases,Beed had 53 cases and Osmanabad registered 26 new cases.
As per official data, 8,702 more corona cases and 56 deaths were reported from across the state during the past 24 hours, taking the state's cumulative case tally to 21,29,821.

Meanwhile, 3,074 patients were cured and discharged from hospitals during the same period across the state, taking the total number of recoveries so far in Maharashtra to 20,12,367.
With this, the state's recovery rate has now declining to 94.49 per cent as well as and the death rate stand at 2.44 per cent.
According to the health officials, so far, a total of 51,993 patients have succumbed to the disease in the state and more than 64,260 active patients are currently under treatment in Maharashtra.
Meanwhile,cases of Covid again raising day by day across the state has put challenge before the health Administration.
However,the respective district administration already started several strict measures to control the raising trend of the Covid pandemic including antigen test in all government offices and at vital locations in the region and appealed to citizens do not venture at crowded places .
Night curfew was continue in Aurangabad and Hingoli while two-days Jantha curfew will observed in Latur from tomorrow.
