Nanded, Dec 5 (UNI) The land acquisition process of the extended Nanded to Jalna highway, which connects Nanded district at the far end of Marathwada with Mumbai-Nagpur Samrudhi Express Highway, started on Saturday.
According to an official press statement issued last night stated that, Minister of State for Public Works and Guardian Minister of Nanded District Ashok Chavan had recently announced the construction of a highway connecting it to Hyderabad.
Mr Chavan expressed satisfaction over the speed with which the administration and the revenue department has taken up the process of land acquisition for the highway and wished the officers and employees success in this endeavour.
In this regard a special meeting was held to enable the concerned officials of the revenue department to work dynamically and understand the technical aspects of the highway being developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation(MSRDC).
Dr Shankarrao Chavan Zilla Niyojan Bhavan, Vice President and Managing Director of the Corporation Radheshyam Mopalwar gave an illustrated presentation about the Hindu Heart Emperor Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samrudhi Highway and encouraged all concerned revenue officers of Jalna-Parbhani and Nanded districts to complete the task on time.
The highway is expected to bring in direct and indirect prosperity to the rural areas, especially the farmers.
Through this highway, the connectivity between Nanded and the Mumbai-Pune-Nashik area will become faster. We will complete all the land acquisition process for this highway in the next 7 months, the statement added.
