Mah Govt ready to meet challenges on Maratha reservation row: Danve

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 29 (UNI) On the recommendation of the State Backward Class Commission, the Maharashtra government has granted 16 per cent reservation under the Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) category to the Maratha community in education and employment, said BJP state president Raosaheb Danve on Thursday.
He further said that the reservation can be given above the set limit of 50 per cent if the SBC Commission recommends the community as backward and pointed out that the M G Gaikwad-led SBC Commission has recommended the Maratha community as socially and educationally backward across the state.
Mr Danve, who was in city BJP office to celebrate the historical moment as the state government today announced 16 per cent reservation to the Marathas, thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for having resolved the issue of Maratha reservation that was pending since last many years.
