Mah Governor calls for making Waghari River Rejuvenation model project

Mumbai, Aug 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao on Wednesday said that the Waghari River Rejuvenation Project to be taken up in Yavatmal district should be made a model project for the entire country.
The Governor said saving river was no longer an option, but had become an imperative for the survival of people.
The Governor was speaking after witnessing a presentation made by the Isha Foundation on the Waghari River Rejuvenation Project at Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Founder of Isha Foundation Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and Finance, Planning and Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar were present.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the government agreed ‘in principle’ to the River Rejuvenation Plan and to the creation of a Special Purpose Vehicle for the Waghari River Rejuvenation Project.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the Founder of Isha Foundation said,'' Economy and ecology go hand in hand. Rejuvenation of rivers through plantation of trees on either sides of the river stream will increase the income of farmers five times.''
Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, Chief Secretary D K Jain, ACS Finance UPS Madan, ACS Agriculture and Marketing Vijay Kumar and ACS Planning Debashish Chakrabarty were among those present on the occasion.

Bhopal, Jan 20 (UNI) Countries and foreign industrialists participating at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters will be briefed regarding reforms in policies and positive decisions taken by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath’s dispensation – during its maiden year in office – with the goal of creating an investment-friendly environment in the state.
Over 3,000 business and political leaders are expected at the four-day gathering commencing on Tuesday. A high-level delegation accompanying the Chief Minister shall meet officials of more than 30 companies.

Bhopal, Jan 20 (UNI) With the objective of attracting investment, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath will have one-to-one interactions – with more than 15 industrialists of national and international repute – on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting scheduled in Davos-Klosters from Tuesday to Friday, official sources said.
The Chief Minister is heading a high-level delegation from the state.
