Madrassa teacher held for sexually abusing minor girls

Kannur, Mar 15 (UNI) Muzhakunnu police today arrested a 27-year-old Madrassa teacher, on the charges of sexually abusing four minor girls, following the complaints of girls aged between 8 to 10 at Chakad near Kakkayanghad in Iritty.
According to Muzhakkunu Sub inspector K Raveendran police, they arrested C Muhammed Rafi (27) of Tharuvana near Vellamunda in Waynad district. He was the appointed one month back as Madrassa teacher in Nasarthul Islam Madrassa at Chakkad in Muzhakunnu panchayat.
The incident occurred on March 12, where the survivors have been going for religious studies, the teacher sexually abused them inside the Madrassa compound. The incident came into light when the students narrated the ordeal to their parents and they alert the police station on last day and led to arrest on today.
Sub-inspector of the women cell took the testimony from the four girls and police registered case under POCSO (Protectin of Childrena from Sexual Offences )Act and he would be produce before the Thalassery Sessions court on tomorrow.
