Madras HC dismisses bail plea of former TN Minister Senthilbalaji for 2nd time

Chennai, Feb 28 (UNI) The Madras High Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail petition of former Tamil Nadu Minister V. Senthilbalaji, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case and remanded in judicial custody.
This was for the second time the former Minister's bail plea was rejected by the High Court after Justice G. Jayachandran had dismissed the earlier petition in October 2023 after taking note of the fact that he remained a Minister despite being in judicial custody and that his brother Ashok Kumar,
a co-accused in the money laundering case, was absconding.

TN Cabinet approves land pattas for 86,000 poor people, 2 committees to be formed

Chennai, Feb 10 (UNI) Provding a lasting solution for the 63-year-old issue of poor and the downtrodden, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet headed by Chief Minister M K Stalin approved issuance
of land pattas to 86,000 poor and downtrodden people living in proromboke (unapproved) lands
and formed two committees to implement this in six months.
