Deoghar, Apr 17 (UNI) An average voter turnout of 35.61 percent has been recorded in the first four hours of polling (till 1100hrs) for the bypolls on Madhupur seat of Jharkhand Assembly.
Voting on the seat will continue till 1800hrs.
On the other hand District Electoral Officer cum DC Manjunath Bhajantri said that from 0700hrs peaceful polling had commenced on all the 487 polling booths. He said that on all the polling booths 100 percent masks are being used.
The DC said that till 1100hrs 35.61 percent voters had cast their votes. He has also given necessary instructions to the officials and the staff who have been posted at the different webcasting centres. He had asked them to follow all the covid guidelines including wearing of mask, use of sanitizers and maintaining social distancing.
The DC said that arrangements of webcasting has been made on 245 booths and even senior officials from the election commission are monitoring the situation. In the collectorate a modern webcasting control room has been set up. He has urged all the voters to use their franchise in the polls.
